Find Items with Changes or Updates#

Two commands help you review the state of items within a checkout:

Find Items with Changes lists items with local modifications.
Find Items with Updates lists items for which a newer local or remote version is available.

Find Changed Items#

Select the remote repository to compare against in the ribbon’s repository dropdown.
Navigate to a checkout, or to an item within a checkout.
In the Repository tab of the ribbon, click Find Items with Changes or Find Items with Updates.
Colectica checks the selected item and its referenced contents. A results tab opens with the matching items.

The scope begins at the selected item. To check the entire checkout, select its top-level item before running the command. An empty results list means no items matched the chosen condition.

View Differences#

In the results list, double click an item, or select it and press Enter.
Colectica opens a comparison of the referenced version and the appropriate newer version.

If an item has a newer local version or local modifications, the comparison uses the latest local version. Otherwise it uses the latest version from the selected remote repository. When both local and remote updates exist, the local version is used for this comparison.

These commands display changes without applying updates or publishing items. If the repository cannot be accessed, Colectica reports a repository error.
