Create a Classification from a Code List#

Colectica can create a statistical classification from a code list, including a hierarchy of codes.

Navigate to the code list in your local items or a local checkout. If it is on a remote repository, check it out first.
In the Classifications tab of the ribbon, click Create Classification from Code List.
Colectica creates the classification and saves it as a new local checkout.
When the completion message appears, refresh the navigator to see the new checkout. Open it and review the classification.

The classification copies the code list’s name, label, description, custom fields, and references to other materials. Each code becomes a classification item with the same code value. The item’s name, label, and description come from the code’s category.

For hierarchical code lists, Colectica creates a classification level for each depth and preserves the parent-child relationships between codes. The original code list remains available.
