Import from SKOSΒΆ

Colectica supports importing information from the Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS). Colectica can import items from SKOS as either Code Lists or Concepts.

Note

CESSDA (the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives) provides many useful controlled vocabularies in SKOS format at https://vocabularies.cessda.eu/.

To import items from SKOS into a new Code List or Concept Set:

  1. Navigate to a Metadata Package.

  2. From the ribbon, choose either Import SKOS as Code List or Import SKOS as Concept System.

  3. Choose the file from which to import terms.

  4. The appropriate items will be created inside the Metadata Package.

To update an existing Code List with new content from a SKOS file:

  1. Navigate to the Code List.

  2. From the ribbon, choose the Update Code List from SKOS command.

  3. Choose the file from which to import terms.

  4. The appropriate changes will be made to the Code List.

To update an existing Concept Set with new content from a SKOS file:

  1. Navigate to the Concept Set.

  2. From the ribbon, choose the Update Concept System from SKOS command.

  3. Choose the file from which to import terms.

  4. The appropriate changes will be made to the Concept Set.
