The home page provides several ways of accessing the information in Colectica Portal.

Colectica Portal is highly customizable. You may only see some of the sections described here, depending how the portal you are viewing is configured. Administrators configure the home page in the Site Information settings.

Welcome

The top of the home page displays the welcome message configured by the administrator, along with the search box. Custom HTML content configured by the administrator is displayed below the welcome message.

Search

Enter text in the search box to search the portal’s metadata. Press Enter or click the Search button to view the search results. The administrator may limit the home page search to certain types of items.

Item counts

The Colectica Portal home page may display informative links to certain item types, including datasets, variables, and survey instruments. Along with these links, a count indicating the number of items available in the portal is displayed. Click the item count to view a list of all the items of that type on the search page.

Item lists

The home page may list the items of certain types directly, for example all the studies in the portal. Click an item to view its detail page. Click the Search all link at the bottom of a list to see all the items of that type.

Topics

If a topical concept system is configured, the home page lists its top level topics. Click a topic to open it on the Explore page.

Tour

If tours are enabled, the first time you visit the home page a message offers a quick tour of the page. A Tour this Page link is also available from the Help menu on the home, search, explore, and basket pages.

Themes

Portals with a custom theme may replace the standard home page layout with a theme-specific page. See Theme and Styles.
