Edit Checks

An Edit Check is a way to validate responses.

Add an Edit Check

To add an edit check, click the Edit Check button on the item palette.

Edit Check Type

A Soft edit check means the computer-assisted interviewing system should issue a warning.

A Hard edit check indicates the computer-assisted interviewing system should not continue until the validation logic passes.

Ensure the following are true

This area describes the validation logic. The Description field is for human readable text that describes what should be true.

The expression editor allows formal logic specification. See Display Logic for detailed instructions on editing the logical conditions.

When not true, show this message

The message to be displayed when the specified validation logic is not true.

Edit checks display as their own type of card on the design surface.
