Local Database

Storage Location

Colectica Designer’s local database is stored in a file named %appdata%\Algenta\Colectica\designer.s3db. This file can be copied to create a backup of the local database.

Manage Local Database

To manage the local database, use the File - Manage Local Database menu item.

Clean up all items

  • Description: Deletes all items from the local database if they are not part of a checkout.

  • Use Case: Use this option to remove unneeded local data while preserving checked-out items.

Clean up changed items

  • Description: Deletes modified items from the local database if they are not part of a checkout.

  • Use Case: Use this option to discard changes to local items that are not in a checkout. This can be used to revert local changes.

Repair Local Database

  • Description: Ensures all items have a most recent version indicated in the database.

  • Use Case: This is only necessary after upgrades from prior to version 6.1.

Delete all items

  • Description: Deletes all items from the local database.

  • Use Case: Use this option when you need to completely clear all locally stored items.

Reset Synchronization Status

  • Description: Manually marks all local items as unchanged and synchronized with the repository.

  • Use Case: Use this option if synchronization issues arise, ensuring local items are treated as up-to-date.

Notes

  • Actions that delete items will only affect local copies; repository items remain untouched.

  • Ensure that you have backed up important data before performing any cleanup or deletion operations.
